Ammonite Studios and Ammonite Technical Services (ATS) work in tandem to offer you the most comprehensive design/technical support/management services for live events and productions.
However not all projects need design or management, just technical support and equipment.
We wanted to shine a light on all ATS have to offer independently for all your technical needs; from equipment rentals to expert consultation.
Rob oversees all creative and technical initiatives within the Studio. He leads both the core team and a flexible network of freelancers, ensuring clients benefit from a highly engaged, hands-on approach across concurrent projects.
Rob graduated from Mountview in 2010 with a first-class degree in technical production and formed Ammonite in 2017.
Rob’s background is in high-end major commercial theatre and live events where he remains a sought after independent Lighting Designer for productions across the globe.
For many years he worked as an Associate Designer listing credits amongst the world’s most pre-eminent creative practitioners.
Matt has overseen ATS for 5 years and is responsible for equipment selection, hire, purchase and maintenance. In 2026 he was appointed as a Company Director of Ammonite Studios.
Matt manages our asset technicians, draughting department, specialist freelance recruitment and any further ad hoc knowledge sourcing required across projects.
He advises clients on complex rigging and installation of bespoke systems and control interfaces and provides all Ammonite staff with first line enquiry for technical provision and budgeting.
Matt trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School gaining a degree in Stage Management and Technical Theatre and spent the majority of his career before Ammonite as a Production Electrician on so many shows including Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Lion King, Phantom, Wicked and more.
He further holds the BS7909 Temporary Electrical Installation certification.
Thomas works across many different Ammonite projects and supports the core team technically both from the Ammonite technical base and also on-site at various theatres and event locations in London and UK wide.
Thomas studied at UEL gaining a degree in Music Technology and Production and fulfils the role of both Production Electrician and Sound No.3 for special event and project development initiatives throughout the year. Thomas enjoys graphic and social media content design and is an invaluable support to the Social Media team at Ammonite.
Prices are all dependent on the length and scale of the event or project.
