About

In response to growing demand from many sectors of the entertainment industry for a new style of direction and management to handle ever more ambitious creative and technical work, Ammonite was conceived to create innovation and change.

From Olympic ceremonies to West End theatre, international festivals to major sporting events, we are known for turning the most challenging of story-telling into emotionally resonant, high-impact realities.  Our work is defined by a passion for unique and original narrative immersion , spectacular design, and cutting-edge technology.

Whether it’s producing a West End play, a mass participation immersive event or  transforming a sporting championship into a fan-first cultural party, our team imagines and engineers experiences that surprise, delight, and endure.

Rooted in decades of experience, our team spans creatives, producers, technologists, architects, designers, and strategists — all united by a belief in the power of immersive storytelling to connect communities and audiences across the globe.

We work collaboratively and sustainably, building lasting partnerships with local teams, organisations, and cultural institutions wherever we go. We believe every project is an opportunity to champion innovation, elevate new voices, and leave a positive legacy.

Ammonite launched in 2017 as a project between designers Rob Casey and Jon Lyle . The Studio quickly became a novel choice for producers and designers looking for an assured support base that could work creatively and technically across a number of high-profile theatre and event productions.

Intervening years have seen the workforce grow to handle an ever-increasing number of projects, from our heartland of West End and Broadway theatre through to immersive outdoor experiences and festivals across Europe to production management for major productions in the Middle East and Asia.

Alongside our Design , Production and Technical Management work, we maintain a regular series of industry talks and seminars known as the Ammonite Sessions which each year brings thought leaders, notable practitioners and studios together to talk of topics and ideas that are common to us all.

In 2023 we convened a  conference looking at the Future of Followspots amidst the myriad new automated systems then coming to market,  in 2024 three days of debate and discourse looking at  Defining the Wow Factor to a whole day of talks on how the industry is responding to latest thinking in creating more Sustainable Production Protocols across the world.

In October 2025 we will once again brings partners, friends and some of the brightest minds in the business to discuss the omnipresent world of Pre-Visualisation and how the technology is rapidly altering our workflows in every corner of major commercial production across the globe.
