Rob oversees all creative and technical initiatives within the Studio. He leads both the core team and a flexible network of freelancers, ensuring clients benefit from a highly engaged, hands-on approach across concurrent projects.
Rob graduated from Mountview in 2010 with a first-class degree in technical production and formed Ammonite in 2017. Rob’s background is in high-end major commercial theatre and live events where he remains a sought after independent Lighting Designer for productions across the globe. For many years he worked as an Associate Designer listing credits amongst the world’s most pre-eminent creative practitioners.
Rob is currently the Lighting Designer for the National Theatre’s new production of War Horse.
Rob’s technical and creative expertise has been called upon to deliver some of the largest, events, shows and celebrations of the last 15 years.
He was part of the lighting design consultancy at the V&A Museum in London for their spectacular Pink Floyd – Their Mortal Remains (2017) exhibition and previously the sell-out David Bowie extravaganza in 2013. His substantial experience across an eclectic portfolio of work; from West End to Broadway theatre to immersive events and brand activations has equipped him with a unique skill-set.
His passion for developing new forms of creative endeavour, be it on stage, on water, in virtual worlds or in frozen forests is helping to develop new technical tools and workflows fit for the next-generation experience economy.
